not much

so…you may not know this, but i get really stressed out sometimes.  shocking, i know.  me?  anyhoo…the past 3 weeks i have been incredibly busy at work, also dealing with looking for an apartment, and also, i am finding it harder to deal with my grandfather’s death than i thought i would.   i know that sounds really callous, and i thought i would be sad, but didnt think i would find myself sitting at my desk with a spare  second and thinking about how i will  never see my grandpa again.  i didnt expect that.

anyway, my point is that in the middle of all of that, yesterday afternoon was really nice.  dave q and i went with james up to his kids show on the upper west side.  the kids there were genetically predisposed to be beautiful and fantastically successful.  and the parents seemed pretty nice, so they have that going for them too.  james played for the kids and they really paid attention.  i have no idea what they were thinking, but i say if you can hold a 4-year-old’s attention for half an hour, youve really got something special.  and they gave out free ice cream.  which was pretty awesome.  after we actually made it up to the upper west side in a borrowed car (thanks, dawn!) it was the most relaxing afternoon i have had in a long time.  i had a coffee, watched a bunch of little kids dig music, had an ice cream, watched some other little kids dig music at the second show, and then went home around sunset. 

then i made a risotto for dinner.  nothing to complain about there, either.

all things considered, james has another show tomorrow night and sunday was such a good time and a relief from stress that im sure tuesday night in a snow shower will be worth it.  beats the time i went to see him play in a blizzard.  both times i saw him play during blizzards, actually.  okay so maybe they werent technically blizzards.
