pay attention to the part where it says i am always right

these myspace quizzes are the best thing about myspace. that and the fact that you always know when your favorite band is playing.

You Should Rule Jupiter

Huge and hot, Jupiter is a quickly turning planet with short days and intense gravity.

You are perfect to rule Jupiter, because you are both dominant and kind.

You have great strength and confidence, but you never abuse your power.

You are always right. Even if you make mistakes, you compensate for them… before anyone knows it.

Headstrong and ambitious, you always have a goal in mind. You are optimistic and believe thing things will always work out.

What Planet Should You Rule?

so bearing in mind that i am always right (im sort of fixated on that one) here’s another tip. YVEL at the living room tomorrow night. it’s only a matter of time till the world comes over to my side and realizes that YVEL or LEVY whatever you call it is leagues ahead of everyone else. today jupiter, tomorrow the universe. that’s what i say.

so this seemed like such a good idea yesterday, but now i am having second thoughts. josh and mary and i are thinking about doing up some shirts that say:

plat 2

assume the answer is YES, then pick a letter to correspond with your yes.

a) should i wear this shirt?
b) should they wear this shirt?
c) should YOU wear this shirt?
d) should the world wear this shirt?
e) no opinion

see, not only do i aim to inform and entertain, but i also aim to test your reading comprehension skills.

it's really not myspace. neither is it yourspace. it’s theirspace to tell you what you like.

this article almost makes me want to delete my myspace account (although i was relieved to find out that i just barely fit into their 15-34 year old demographic)

what’s next for myspace?

it’s a long article, but it’s very worth reading to see where Fox’s mind is.  the best (worst) part of the story is that it is written without a smidgen of irony.  i thought about deleting my account, but honestly, im pretty interested in seeing what happens.  it’s pretty gross and also pretty obvious.  i have never been convinced about the upside of social networking, but this certainly delineates the downside.

i wasnt sure whether to post this or not. im not reposting because of the “review.” it isnt really a review, in fact, it is just lazy bitchiness. i dont like to perpetuate haters. the reason i am reposting is that the comments that everybody has left are incredibly articulate and impressive. and of course they kick this clown’s ass. dont go off half-cocked on a LEVY fan. if youre gonna start shit, you gotta be prepared for the backlash. LEVY fans are a pretty rabid bunch.

cujo

this guy is entitled to his opinion (wrong as it may be) but what he wrote wasnt an opinion, it was venom. for being blocked on myspace?

sidekicks

josh sent me this today. hes always talking about the power of the internet and im always like “yeah, well, i guess” but i guess viral really IS viral because this is awesome and stories like this need to be spread.

How NOT to steal a Sidekick II

this is a much better story than any of the other sidekicks that have been stolen had.

i finished my root canal today. that was pretty exciting. they stuck a whole bunch of plastic picks up in my gum though and the dentist wouldnt explain why. look:

x-rays 2

dont know if you can really see them. strange.

anyway, while i was waiting an hour (!) for my appointment i skimmed through the new york magazine article on the strokes and also a profile of craig newmark, the founder of craigslist. as far as the strokes are concerned…frankly i’m confused. all over the internet, people are trashing this record, and everyone i know says, even die-hard loyalists, that this album doesnt measure up to expectations. so why do all the print articles call it their best record yet? i dont think it’s their best record. i think it’s their worst record. it sounds like a band that wants to do something new, but they arent quite sure what direction they want to go in. so they did one song emulating each sound they like. that’s fine, except they just arent that good.

the craigslist article was cool. i may be the only person left who didnt realize that the loss in revenue from classified ad sales was really hurting newspapers. as ive said before, they get my hands dirty, so i dont really like to to touch them. anyway, it was more of a profile of “craig” (yes, that is his real name, but i feel funny calling him just craig, so he gets it in quotes) and how he is sort of entrepreneur by accident. it’s funny that the most political people are often the ones who dont have an agenda, but an ideal

interesting. i just checked my friendster account, and under the heading, “meet new people living locally” they suggested julian casablancas as a new friend for me.

i have been wrestling like that dude wrestled with the angel in the bible as to whether or not to put up a link to this video. it is just plain wrong. but also made me laugh out loud numerous times. via defamer via a few other people, here it is in all its cringeing through your laughter glory:

the passion of the christ as a benny hill segment

my parents would be so disappointed. it’s fucking genius, though.
