i really dont pay as much attention to world political trends as i would like to. frankly, it’s not like i am occupying my time any other way, it’s just that it takes so much effort to be involved that i dont have the energy to even begin. lazy, yes. all this to say that because of that, stories like this one about the leftward turn that south america is taking tend to come out of left field for me and make me very excited. of course, i am also skeptical of this ever having an impact on a global scale. i tend to think that the american government in its current incarnation (and by current i mean since the modern age, not just the bush administration) would never let itself be affected by something as trivial as bolivia. of course, i am painfully uneducated about all of this. everything i know about south america i learned in che guevara biographies. that should be a bumper sticker. maybe josh can go around slapping it on hummers. anyway, it seems like this little country may actually have some juice. could this actually be part of a new revolution? are revolutions even possible anymore? how many revolutions can you have before you get back to where you started from? which is where? i am full of questions for a sunday afternoon. you see? this is the energy i was talking about. what does it all mean? every question i have only leads to more questions.
